- Own services end-to-end on a modern Java + Spring Boot platform — design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Design domain events and the integrations between services — event types, processors, idempotency, and eventual-consistency boundaries.
- Extend the shared platform libraries — auth, async tasks, common infrastructure — that every service in the company depends on.
- Write code that is genuinely tested — strong unit, integration, and contract testing as part of the development loop.
- Drive performance and reliability work, including query optimisation, debugging distributed flows, and capacity planning.
- Raise the engineering bar through code review, technical design docs, and mentoring mid-level engineers.
- Work across a modern stack: Java (latest LTS), Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Cloud GCP, Kubernetes (GKE), PostgreSQL with a domain-event model, and contract-first APIs with OpenAPI.
- Work closely with frontend engineers on the Next.js application when shipping features that cross the boundary.
